Meg describes herself as a master colorist and intuitive painter. Fascinated by the interplay of color and light, she captures memories and emotions through layered compositions designed to evoke joy and reflection.
“My goal is to create art that helps the viewer appreciate the colors we can all learn to see — works that trigger a memory and tell a story.”
Meg Krakowiak is a contemporary, award-winning artist best known for her intriguing color palettes and original paintings that “bring happiness into your home.”
Born into an artistic family, Meg was surrounded by music, theatre, and the fine arts from an early age. While earning her BS in Teaching and MBA in Marketing, she immersed herself in the arts, taking every available art class and performing in local theatre productions. Eventually, Meg left the corporate world to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist.
Predominantly self-taught, Meg expanded her skills through workshops and seminars studying drawing, pastels, watercolor, oils, and acrylics. Deeply influenced by the Impressionists, her work explores the use of color, light, layering, movement, and expressive brushwork.
In 2010, Meg launched a unique business model combining her working studio and retail gallery into one space. Located on historic Palm Avenue in downtown Sarasota, Florida, her studio allowed visitors to watch her paint and experience the creative process firsthand. After more than a decade of welcoming visitors into this cherished space, Meg transitioned from her Palm Avenue gallery to focus on creating from her private studio, now working exclusively with both Procaccini Galleries in Sarasota, Naples and Key West Florida and Art Highlands in North Carolina.
